The First "World Maritime Merchants Forum" Hosted by CMG is to Be Held in Hong Kong
The First World Maritime Merchants Forum (the "Forum") will be held in Hong Kong on October 20, which is hosted by China Merchants Group (CMG) in association with the Baltic and International Maritime Council (BIMCO), the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS), and the Hong Kong Shipowners Association (HKSOA).
With the theme of "Leading the Trend", the Forum is intended to promote closer ties between upstream and downstream industry players, pursue innovation and changes, identify solutions, and jointly explore new business models. The ultimate aim is to boost the transformation and upgrading of the shipping industry chain amid the once-in-a-century great change so as to breathe new life into the conventional industry. Guests and industry experts from around the world will be invited to deeply explore a range of key and hot topics, including creating a global shipping ecosystem in the new era, driving industry transformation and upgrading with innovative technology, and developing a road map and technology for carbon reduction in the shipping industry. Notably, the Conference will include a livestreaming section devoted to eight themes, which enables participants to communicate and exchange ideas with each other.
In summary, the Forum has the following four highlights: exploring and planning for industry upgrading based on a stable and optimized industry chain; identifying solutions for hot topics and difficult issues with the industry; proposing a new model of international conference powered by digital technology; and following up and implementing conference findings.
Organized by CMES Shipping, the Forum will be co-organized by the Hong Kong Chinese Enterprises Association (HKCEA) and Hong Kong Shipping Circles Association Limited. Participants from around the world can choose to attend the Conference either onsite or online. The meeting venue is located at Hong Kong Ocean Park Marriott Hotel; the livestream is available on the Forum's official website at www.wmmhk.com. The website will go live and be open for registration from September 18. Please stay tuned.
